1. When a trial Judge is made aware of a possible problem with defendant's competency, it is abuse of discretion to deny a motion for psychiatric examination. To the extent State v. Arnold, W.Va., 159 W.Va. 158, 219 S.E.2d 922 (1975), differs from this rule, it is overruled. Syllabus Point 4, State v. Demastus, 165 W.Va. 572, 270 S.E.2d 649 (1980). 2. Genuine attempts at suicide constitute evidence of irrational behavior. When these acts are brought to the attention of a trial Judge, he should order a psychiatric examination of a defendant.
